Growing the bicycling population of upstate South Carolina

The Great Escape has made a decision to try to grow the total number of people who ride a bicycle in the Upstate. With the comming of new bicycle trails and greenways, it now makes more sense then ever for those of us who rode as kids and loved it but who don't ride or exercise now as adults, to change our ways.

To really get the maximum number of people riding bicycles we are really trying to get women to pick up the sport. After all they lead men and children in most of what we do. They control the family finances, health and recreational decisions.

All Great Escape stores will now offer a free hour long fun learning event on how to get started into bicycling. No need to sign up, just show up any Thursday at 5:30 for a fun, no pressure, NO SELLING, INFORMATIONAL fun time. We'll tell you about the new trails and greenways, the new types of bikes that are especially suited for the new rider to use on these trails.

Just think, very few to no hills, many easy places to park your car for free, no danger while riding from cars being driven close to your bike, beautiful scenery. Quality time with your significant other, or a good friend. Bring along your children, gain exercise and lose the TV/Gameboy for a quality outing.

We want to share with you our love for the sport of bicycling, take the intimidation out, answer your questions get you back on a bike (like in your youth) and enjoying life. PS: Men and kids are really allowed to come.
